Ketra uses full-spectrum, tunable light to reveal color relationships conventional static white light can flatten. We tune the spectrum, intensity and scene to the work—then make that experience repeatable from a keypad, phone or automation system.

03 · Artwork protection

Security that disappears behind the work.

A concealed wired or wireless contact can turn an individual piece into its own alarm zone. When designed as a dedicated 24-hour zone, moving that piece can initiate the programmed response whether the home’s normal perimeter is armed or disarmed.

System design, contact placement, professional monitoring response and owner notifications are documented for each project. We do not assume the same response is right for every collection.

Questions collectors ask first

What is a framing projector for artwork?+
A framing projector is a specialized architectural light with internal shutters. During commissioning, the beam is aimed and shaped to follow the artwork’s edges so the piece is emphasized without washing the surrounding wall in light.
What does Lutron Ketra Vibrancy do?+
Ketra is a full-spectrum, tunable lighting system. Its Vibrancy capability lets a lighting designer tune the spectrum and intensity to reveal more color separation and pigment nuance, then save the result as a scene that can change with the room or time of day.
Can artwork remain protected when the main alarm is disarmed?+
Yes, when the artwork contact is designed as a dedicated 24-hour zone. In that configuration, moving the protected piece can initiate the programmed alarm response even while the home’s normal perimeter is disarmed. We document the exact response and notification plan during design.
Will the security contact be visible or damage the artwork?+
The goal is a discreet installation behind or around the frame. Wired and wireless options are available, and the right approach depends on the artwork, frame construction, wall material, value, and conservation requirements. We inspect the piece and mounting conditions before proposing hardware.
Can you add artwork lighting or protection to an existing home?+
Often, yes. Some projects can use existing track locations, control wiring, alarm panels, or automation platforms; others benefit from a new fixture, power location, or dedicated security zone. An on-site assessment determines what can be reused without compromising the result.
