Cox’s own notice says current HomeLife equipment is not compatible with SimpliSafe, which generally means starting over with a new DIY system. We may be able to reuse sound door/window contacts, motions, glass-breaks, wiring, sirens, and cable paths, then professionally modernize the panel and communicator. Often, yes. Door/window contacts, motion detectors, glass-break sensors, sirens, and sound wiring can frequently be reused when they are in good condition. The control panel and communicator usually need to be modernized (we typically install a Qolsys IQ panel with cellular signaling and Alarm.com). Most residential takeovers and panel upgrades are completed in a single visit once equipment is scoped. We schedule around your availability and aim to keep any monitoring gap as close to zero as possible. Complex homes with cameras, locks, or automation may take a second trip for fine-tuning.
