Ben Griffin's Home
Ben's house was already built and lived in, with very little low-voltage wiring to work with. We still gave him a complete smart home.
Everything went into the finished house: Ketra lamps in his existing fixtures, battery-powered shades that needed no new wiring, and control and voice layered on top of what was already there. We built it in phases, and now he runs the whole house, inside and out, by voice, keypad or phone.
“My most exciting project so far by a landslide.”
Ketra lighting, inside and out
110 Ketra lamps, so the color and warmth match from room to room and out to the patio and driveway.
Crestron Home control
Engraved keypads and one app for the lighting, shades, music, thermostats and landscape lights.
Josh.ai voice control in nine rooms
Ben can ask for a scene, a shade, music or a temperature from anywhere in the house.
29 Lutron Triathlon shades
Battery-powered motorized shades throughout the home, with no new wiring.
Sonos music
Three Sonos Arc Ultra soundbars, with Ben's own Sonos Beams brought into the system.
Seven Crestron thermostats
Every zone on the same keypads, app and voice control.
Ubiquiti Wi-Fi 7 network
A wired backbone and Wi-Fi 7 coverage for everything in the house.
Alarm with 24/7 monitoring
Monitored around the clock, with local guard response when an alarm needs one.
Fall 2025
Alarm and monitoring, then the Ubiquiti network.
Winter to summer 2026
Ketra lighting on Crestron Home, inside first, then the patio and driveway.
October 2026
29 motorized shades, then Josh.ai voice control and Sonos on top of everything.
